I am a qualified, registered teacher and hold a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education, graduating from Auckland University of Technology in 2016. My early childhood education background includes Playcentre, Waldorf and rural settings. I believe warmth, respect and heart-centred relationships come first when working with children. I aim to create a safe, loving environment, where children of all abilities, backgrounds and ages can feel included and have the confidence to create their own challenges and learn through free, uninterrupted play. My special interests are music, yoga, puppet stories, and I love incorporating these into our daily rhythm. I am honoured to be part of your children’s wellbeing and learning journey and am enjoying getting to know you all, your whānau and community.
I am committed to the promotion of the well-being and holistic development of babies, toddlers, and young children through responsive and reciprocal relationships. Through the provision of a safe environment with rich and interesting learning activities, I want to empower children to be independent, respectful, and responsible societal members as well as confident and competent lifetime learners.
I am so happy to have rejoined the Kaiako Team at Minnows as I taught here between 2013 and 2019. I love to see children learning and growing and believe education should be about lifelong learning. The positive foundation for this is our goal as Early Childhood Teachers. My special interests are in understanding learning within imaginative play, creating art projects in many different forms and environmental sustainability. I enjoy literacy and numeracy through books, storytelling, play/resources and music.
